INKREATE was present in the 8th International Conference and Exhibition on 3D Body Scanning and Processing Technologies. October 2017, in Montréal, Québec, Canada.
The 3DBODY.TECH Conference Expo focus on 3D human body scanning, measurement and processing technologies, methods and applications. It serves as a platform for the information on the latest developments and interesting applications in various sectors, as well as, for building relationships and exchanging ideas between manufacturers, users, developers and researchers from around the world.
Alfredo Ballester introduced the last projects of the Institute of Biomechanics (IBV), including INKREATE, and also presented the portable and low-cost 3D technologies developed by the Institute of Biomechanics (IBV). He presented the partial results of a larger validation study of two innovative products based on Data-driven 3D Reconstruction (D3DR) technology: a smartphone app, Avatar3D, and a portable booth, DomeScan. The results show that, for the D3DR is as reliable as high resolution 3D scanners and more reliable than manual measurements made by an expert.
INKREATE will use this technology with smartphones during the pilots foreseen in 2018.
